CER Event at Spa Francorchamps

Written by Jay.

It was a good weekend for Sporting & Historic Cars at Spa competing in the CER Series.

The Lola T290 of Gianluca Rattazzi / Emmanuelle Pirro qualified 4th for the 1 hour race.  Pirro made a very good start  and went down the outside to take the lead at turn 1 and held onto it for 3 laps despite the close attention of the 3 litre DFV which powered past on the uphill straight. Pirro bravely hung on to 2nd until a safety car intervention took the race through to a pit stop for a driver change.

Gianluca Rattazzi and Emmanuelle Pirro were out again later in the day with the sweet sounding Alfa T33 for CER 1, qualifying in 6th place.  Pirro again made a very good start and was in P2 at the end of the first lap.  He then closed on the leading Lola T70 and pushed hard swapping places several times before another safety car period leading to the pit stop during which a shower of rain and sleet caused a lot of panic in the pit lane!

The Alfa slipped back in the second half of the race with a fuel pump problem resulting in a DNF

Masters Endurance Legends

Written by Jay.

The first race was at Imola and the cars ran like clockwork for the two races giving the drivers a win and second place each in the GT1 category.  With that success we are now preparing a third DBR9 ready for the Silverstone Classic round on the 3rd weekend of July.

Winter Preperations

Written by Jay.

Over the winter we have been busy preparing for the new Masters Endurance Legends Series with two Aston Martin DBR9’s carrying out initial testing at Donnington Park and then an exclusive Aston Martin three day test at Portimao where the owners completed over 260 laps, quite a few of them in the wet.

Our driver coach Sam Hancock was on hand to give valuable help, advising and guiding the owners through a different type of car to the ones they normally drive.  Everyone came away very happy.
