New Car Testing at Donington

The Sporting & Historic racing team completed a very successful first test with the Ferrari 512 BB LM at Donington. This new acquisition by one of our customers raced in period at Daytona and Sebring.
With Sam Hancock at the wheel, the team were able to run the Flat 12 powered Ferrari in both wet and dry conditions, gathering essential information for when the car takes to the track next season.
The team also tested the customers Alfa Romeo T33 prior to its forthcoming rebuild.
Sporting & Historic Car Engineers have a busy winter ahead rebuilding a dream list of road and racing cars. More details will follow.

Sporting & Historic Cars Racing Team Wins Sussex Trophy

The Ferrari 246S prepared by Sporting & Historic Car Engineers has won the Sussex Trophy at the Goodwood Revival for the 5th time.
Starting from Pole Position, Bobby Verdon Roe drove the Ferrari superbly in an exciting duel with the Lister Costin of Chris Ward, with Verdon Roe eventually taking the win by 3.5 seconds. 
Sporting & Historic Car Engineers are now busy preparing the car for the Stirling Moss Trophy meeting at Spa this weekend.IMG 2449

Gregor Fisken Drives to a Superb Win at Silverstone Classic

Stepping in at the last minute when Bobby Verdon-Roe found himself stranded in Portugal and unable to make the race. Gregor took to the challenge like a duck to water (literally) with a wet qualifying he had to quickly get used to the car and finished a careful 5th place, ready for the race on Saturday morning.
The sun came out and everybody was looking forward to a dry race. From the start Gary Pearson quickly sped into the lead and Gregor had to battle with the field on the first lap, getting the bit between his teeth and started to move through the field getting up to 2nd place some 12 seconds behind Pearson when they came in for the pit stop. A really slick stop ensured that Fisken came back out virtually with Pearson and after posting fastest lap of the race took over the lead. Pearson hung on for a couple of laps but then had a part spin and started to drop back. Meanwhile Fisken kept his head down and took a well deserved victory, some 14 seconds in the lead after the 50 minute race.
The 246 Dino is leading the championship and we are all looking forward to the Goodwood Revival where regular driver Bobby Verdon-Roe will be back in action.
